The Self Door
The Self Developmental Path
I DO NOT NEED TO FIND A FINAL VERSION OF MYSELF. I NEED TO KNOW MYSELF WELL ENOUGH TO CHANGE WITHOUT LOSING MYSELF.
Who am I becoming?
If this challenge creates more questions than answers, that is useful information.
The Self door may be calling.
There is a difference between observing yourself and knowing yourself.
You can know what you do.
You can know what you believe.
You can know what you want.
You can know how other people see you.
You can know what you have accomplished.
You can know what you are afraid of.
You can know the roles you play.
And still wonder:
Who is the person underneath all of that?
The Self Door explores the architecture of identity.
Not personality tests.
Not labels.
Not a search for one permanent definition.
Not the creation of a more impressive version of yourself.
This Path asks you to investigate:
• Which parts of your identity are genuinely yours? • Which parts were inherited? • Which parts were assigned to you? • Which parts were created to survive a particular period of your life? • Which parts still fit? • Which parts have expired? • Which contradictions can coexist? • Which qualities remain when circumstances change? • What makes you recognizable to yourself across time? • What can change without making you feel that you have betrayed yourself? • What must remain for you to still recognize yourself?
The objective is not to discover a final answer to:
WHO AM I?
The objective is to become increasingly capable of answering:
WHO AM I, WHAT IS MINE, WHAT IS NO LONGER MINE, AND WHAT AM I STILL BECOMING?
I am becoming someone I can recognize.
This is a field guide. You observe, choose, and record. It does not score you or rank you.
