The Expression Developmental Path

I CREATE BECAUSE IT IS WHO I AM. NOT BECAUSE I NEED APPLAUSE.

Can I create without needing permission?

If creation keeps calling you:

the Expression door may be calling.

CAN I CREATE WITHOUT NEEDING PERMISSION? Expression is the territory where your internal world becomes external. It is the place where thought becomes language. Where feeling becomes movement. Where imagination becomes an object. Where an idea becomes something another person can see, hear, touch, read, experience, or remember. Expression is not limited to art. You express yourself through what you make, what you say, how you dress, how you move, how you solve problems, how you build things, how you tell stories, how you organize your environment, and how you choose to leave something behind. But expression can become complicated. You may wait until you are good enough. You may wait until someone gives you permission. You may compare yourself to people who have practiced longer. You may create only when someone is watching. You may stop when something is imperfect. You may hide unfinished work. You may avoid creating because the possibility of failure feels worse than the possibility of never trying. This Path moves in the opposite direction. You will PLAY. You will MAKE. You will FAIL. You will PRACTICE. You will FINISH. You will SHARE. You will REVISE. You will COLLABORATE. You will CREATE CONSISTENTLY. And eventually, you will CREATE WITH PURPOSE. The goal is not to become an artist. The goal is not to become famous. The goal is not to make money. The goal is not to receive approval. The goal is to become someone who can create something because they decided it should exist.

I can make something because I want it to exist.

This is a field guide. You observe, choose, and record. It does not score you or rank you.
