TRANSCENDENCE

Transcendence does not have to mean supernatural experience. It can. But it can also mean recognizing that your identity is larger than the isolated story you tell about yourself. You are part of: a family. a culture. a species. a place. a generation. a history. an ecosystem. a chain of knowledge. a future you will never personally see. The question becomes: What am I participating in that will continue beyond me?
